JC3 Theater: Play Reading Sumer Night With Unicorn by David Rush

Summer Night with Unicorn, winner of the Jewish Plays Project Competition 2013, takes place
between 10 pm and dawn on a summer night in Chicago, beginning when Estelle Singerman
charms her way into the life of sweet, unsuspecting Warren Spencer at a local MacDonald’s
as he tries to eat his burger in peace. From there, thetwo set out into the night on a mission,
encountering along the way a Street Artist, a 19th Century Chassidic Rabbi, a nun, a giraffe,
Warren’s long-deceased wife, a Unicorn and other surprises.

What is the mission Estelle has roped Warren into? Will they accomplish what they set out to do?

Directed by Lee Duberman, the cast features actors Susannah Blachly, Tom Blachly, Clara
Dunham, Richard Fink and Steve Garfinkel.
